Today I have chosen to redo a logo that may not actually require a redo. I actually kind of like the existing logo. Here is the existing logo as it appears on the company’s web page.
I like the colors. Very neutral and very serious and professional. I feel like this logo works very well for a company that provides commercial services, services to other businesses. But, Natural Surroundings also provides services to regular consumer. Because of this I feel the logo should be a bit warmer and appealing to regular folks like you and I.
Here I have made some significant changes. In the previous version the company name is tastefully set within a floating rectangle, behind it is the silhouette of a tree. Although the company provides landscaping services including planting trees this is not their only focus. Actually, the current logo makes me think of tree pruning service. In my redesign I have represented trees by merging several circular and oval shapes along the top to appear as a landscaped row of shrubs. The outlines of these shapes is also displayed prominently to signify planning which is what the company does. Below the company name is another area which contains a representation of paver stones which is another major aspect of the company’s business. I feel like the simple visual illustrations and inviting colors will appeal not just to commercial customers but also to residential ones.
